The purpose of The Platform Professionals, formed in 1976 by four speakers who had the same standards and philosophy to provide clean humor and the highest quality entertainment with a tailored message, was to provide meeting planners with a continuing source of humorists who doubled as keynoters and seminar leaders. Dependability and experience were key factors in selecting members of this unique networking organization.
The theory was, and still is, that if a meeting planner uses one of them, he/she will have a similar quality performer for that slot for four years straight, and have the option to start over. The Platform Professionals also cover for one another in the event of illness or bad weather, adding free insurance to ease the meeting planner's mind.
Doc Blakely, Robert Henry, Jeanne Robertson, and Al Walker have earned the Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) designation from The National Speakers Association (NSA) and have received the prestigious Council of Peers Award for Excellence (CPAE) from NSA, attesting to the quality of the members.
Three of the four have served as national president of the 4,000 member National Speakers Association amd three have been awarded the "Cavett", the highest honor in their profession.Their combined experience totals 107 years.
They maintain offices in Texas, Alabama, North Carolina, and South Carolina. And they are what their name promises --Platform Professionals.
