Interactive Training, Inc. (ITi) Releases First In A Suite Of Online Workplace Safety Courses

Industrial safety instruction from industry experts now available on the Web.

BEVERLY, MA, January 10, 2001 –Interactive Training, Inc. (ITI), a pioneer in Web-based business skills course development, today announced the commercial release of Hazard Communications, an online, self-paced e-course based on industry leading instruction from Steve Giles and Robert Schriver. Steve Giles is senior consultant and operations manager for Giles and Associates of Wartburg, TN. Steve has a BS and MS from the University of Tennessee where he majored in Technological and Adult Education. Robert Schriver, Ph.D. is currently senior consultant with Holt Associates based in Knoxville, TN. Both authors have extensive work and consulting experience in safety operations for the nuclear power facility at Oak Ridge, TN.

Hazard Communications is the first in a suite of seven online courses that will include Fire Safety Fundamentals, Personal Protective Equipment, Material Handling, Conducting Safety Inspections, Hearing Protection, and Protecting against Trips, Slips, and Falls, and will be produced jointly as the result of the exclusive relationship between Interactive Training and the authors.

Protecting employees from hazardous chemicals is critical to their health and safety. Hazard Communications addresses OSHA’s requirements in this area (29 CFR 1910.1200). Topics covered in this e-course include: recognizing hazardous chemicals – their forms and exposure routes, personal protective equipment, interpreting material safety data sheets (MSDS) and container labels, and methods for preventing hazards. This e-course retails for $74 per user and can be purchased directly from Interactive Training, Inc. or via ITI’s technology and e-commerce partner, Learn2.com (NASDAQ:LTWO).
