Interactive Training, Inc. Releases
Powerful Presentations CD-ROM

Powerful Presentations disc helps develop the basic skills necessary in enhancing the impact of messages, say the authors.

BEVERLY, MA -- (December 14, 1998) – Interactive Training, Inc. (ITi) announced today that it is launching a comprehensive, interactive CD-ROM skills-based training program aimed at helping managers and individual contributors enhance the impact of their messages while expanding their communication skill base. This new program complements ITi's Coping with Organizational Change series.

"The story seems to repeat itself week after week, study after study: communication at all levels of many organizations is shoddy at best. People don't listen to one another, even in face-to-face communication, and even when they do encounter each other in person or in work groups, the listening and presentation skills are sorely lacking in quality," say the authors.

"One study recently reported that a 14% waste of time and effort occurs during a typical 40 hour work week because of poor communication. The presentation of one's ideas to another individual or a group of people is still a skill-based event. Powerful Presentations is one of two available CD-ROMs developed to begin to wrestle with this on-going organizational problem," continue the authors.

"With the release of Powerful Presentations, the second in a series of communication fundamentals has been addressed. When coupled with the authors' CD-ROM, Listening to Lead, managers and individual contributors now have the opportunity to also enhance the impact of their messages as they gain new skills. And perhaps equal in importance, the training is accomplished in a highly cost-effective manner," says Paul H. Earl, CEO and President of Interactive Training, Inc.

Powerful Presentations runs on Windows 95 or higher, and Macintosh platforms. It's based on the work of Alan Vinson of Vinson Associates, Inc. and Jack Marcil of Marcil Associates, who managed General Electric's Effective Listening and Effective Presentations programs over the past decade.

Key features of the Powerful Presentations disc include interactive exercises that allow the user to use the computer as an interactive "prop." The ability to print any or all sections of the disc lets users create their own custom workbook based on the disc.

Approximately one hour of tutorials and exercises lets users set their own pace for learning, while the CD-ROM medium lets them work on the material when it's most convenient for them. In addition, an integrated notepad utility provides a convenient way to make and save notes for future reference, while a comprehensive bibliography and a library of related Internet resources completes the disc.

The single user price of Powerful Presentations is $155. An Internet version will be available in early 1999. For information on network, workstation and volume prices, call Interactive Training, Inc. at 978-921-2470.
