Interactive Training, Inc. Releases
Listening to Lead CD-ROM

Listening to Lead disc helps develop the basic skills necessary in undertaking the first step in sound listening practices, say the authors.

BEVERLY, MA -- (December 14, 1998) – Interactive Training, Inc. (ITi) announced today that it is launching a comprehensive, interactive CD-ROM-based skills training program aimed at helping people undertake the first step in developing sound listening practices. This new program complements ITi's Coping with Organizational Change series.

"People are finding they need to improve their leadership and communication skills. We are pleased to offer this product, designed to improve leadership, such as stronger decision making capabilities, through better listening. This course is also suited to those individuals seeking to become more knowledgeable, effective, and secure in strengthened relationships," says Paul H. Earl, CEO and President of Interactive Training, Inc.

"In spite of dramatic technological advances in the distribution of information at all levels of activity, poor listening skills continue to present challenges at all levels of any organization," say the authors. "One needs only to hear the futility of endless meetings where little is accomplished, to witness the frustration of employees whose attempts at organization contributions are ignored, to hear workers complain about not having any resource to discuss solving their problems, to realize that effective listening is in short supply for many people."

Listening to Lead runs on Windows 95 or higher, and Macintosh platforms. It's based on the work of Alan Vinson of Vinson Associates, Inc. and Jack Marcil of Marcil Associates, who managed General Electric's Effective Listening and Effective Presentations programs over the past decade.

Key features of the Listening to Lead disc include interactive exercises that allow the user to use the computer as an interactive "prop." The ability to print any or all sections of the disc lets users create their own custom workbook based on the disc.

Approximately one to one and one-half hours of tutorials and exercises let users set their own pace for learning, while the CD-ROM medium lets them work on the material when it's most convenient for them. In addition, an integrated notepad utility provides a convenient way to make and save notes for future reference, while a comprehensive bibliography and a library of related Internet resources completes the disc.

The single user price of Listening to Lead is $155. An Internet version will be available in early 1999. For information on network, workstation and volume prices, call Interactive Training, Inc. at 978-921-2470.
