The individual we seek should have 4 to 5 years of marketing experience with some of that time spent at a marketing research consulting company. A strong working knowledge of primary research data collection and data processing techniques is a must. In addition, you should be proficient in basic statistics, comfortable with analyzing data and be able to draw clear, concise conclusions, and have prior experience developing questionnaires and writing reports. If you are personable, very well organized, detail orientated, capable of handling multiple tasks, and can communicate clearly and effectively, you may have many of the necessary skills to succeed in this position. While a Master's degree in marketing research or a related field is not required, it is certainly an advantage.

DIRECTOR OF MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS
Our company has been retained by one of their major clients, a $ billion subsidiary of a Fortune 500 company to retain a Director of Marketing Communications, reporting to a managing director. The client is engaged in the print and electronic media publishing of information and data for the commercial and consumer-oriented marketplace. The client is well recognized for its very visible products and services, is progressive in developing new technologies and channel distributions for its broad and diversified customer base. The client headquarters is located in an attractive suburb of an East Coast city known for its diverse economic base consisting of educational, financial, health care and industrial activities. It is located in the Northeast section of the country.
The Director of Marketing Communications will directly supervise a staff of five direct reports, each managing a specific functional area of the department. The position will recommend policy and overall direction including objective settings, research, planning, creation, production and implementation of the client quotes interactive advertising and marketing communications campaigns to worldwide markets. Besides its broad based print media publishing, the firm is well positioned and is aggressively moving into the electronic publishing areas including the internet and World Wide Web activities where they envision significant growth opportunities, utilizing their vast resources and broad customer base.
The qualifications for this exciting opportunity requires extensive knowledge of marketing communications, advertising, broadcast and print media, market research, including special events, trade shows, publications and an understanding of the printing and electronic on-line services. As this is an advertising-driven function, candidates should be well grounded in advertising agency management with strong written and oral skills.
